Oleggio Castello (Olesc Castel [u'l?] in Piedmont, Ulesc Castèl in Lombardy) is an Italian town of 2.028 inhabitants of the province of Novara. The village is based on a crossroads of some provincials from the neighboring countries with the Regional 142 Biellese, of which it is divided into two; incidentally the so-called Regionale marks the exact starting point of the Vergante (assimilar to the prealps) from the Po Valley: the country is therefore half in the plain and half slightly in the hill.
Fortunata also the location, since it is a few kilometers from Arona, a well-known tourist center of Lake Maggiore; in recent years it has seen its population grow significantly for the happy location and for the reception of the villagers. It was probably founded by the Celts, then conquered by the Romans and finally populated by the Longobards, who left the ancient name Olegio here dictate Longobardorum. The dignity of common sinks into the night of the times, except for a period between 1928 and 1947 in which it was merged with the municipalities of Paruzzaro and Montrigiasco, with its capital in Paruzzaro. At the time of the split in 1947, Montrigiasco remained a fraction, and remained under Paruzzaro until 1960, when he became a fraction of Arona. The village rests its local economy on some small factories nearby, mainly in the municipality of the nearby Paruzzaro. Today it is basically a peaceful residential center. It was probably founded by the Celts, then conquered by the Romans and finally populated by the Lombards, who left the ancient name Olegio here saytur Longobardorum.
